When we first suggested the idea of tipping the cap to a glorious OG in the Belgian beer game, Orval, our fellow collab partners were immediately smitten. We all have treasured memories of our first experiences with Orval and the farmhouse and Brett rabbit holes we all went down. Due to time constraints, we chose to co-pitch the fabled Belgian yeast with their signature Brettanomyces strain. To put our own spin on things, we leaned into a plethora of new age hops. Who doesn't want bright citrusy hop character with their touch of Brett funk? On a side note, no rings were lost or saved by trout in the making of this beer.
