Possibly the most under-appreciated beer style on earth, the classic Schwarzbier is easily one of the most versatile and perfect beers ever. With Maiden & Priest, we brewed up a classic Schwarzbier using the best German malt and hops Bavaria offers; M&P is a bit malty and doughy with a light body and a dry finish. The roast character is mellow with a nice complex note of charred malt and is balanced perfectly with mild bitterness and a lovely floral and slightly fruity hop character. Black Lagers truly are the best of both worlds, and we'll be smashing plenty of Maiden & Priest throughout summer and then hiding some in the fridge for winter.
