Westland (Garston Hops)

A bit of a twist on our standard Westland recipe. We collaborated with Garston Hops on this batch, whose hop farm is located at the southern tip of the South Island in New Zealand. Westland features a New Zealand hop (or two) layered against a back drop of Strata and Mosaic. Garston offered to air freight their freshly processed Motueka and Rakau hops from their recent harvest in March, which we added to the dry hop. We opted to keep this batch unfiltered and unfined, as many NZ style IPAs tend to be, but also to saturate the hop profile and showcase the remarkably unique character of the Motueka and Rakau. Notes of pink fruit, lemon-lime, mixed berry and grapefruit. A real treat to have hops like this right here in the heartland of the United States.
