Szechuan pepper has been an ingredient we have wanted to work with for a while now and finally this imperial stout base gave us the opportunity to. Straight away you can get the szechuan pepper on the nose accompanied by a hint of vanilla. These both carry through into the taste and are joined by chocolate and hints of maple syrup with a spicy heat to finish imparted via the cayenne pepper.
