English Barleywines are renowned for their complex malt profiles, which often lean heavily on caramel, toffee, and rich, dark fruit characteristics. Ours is no exception. Toasted caramel and fig come through initially, backed up by the notes only a bourbon barrel could contribute - specifically tannic oak and a bit of vanilla. The medium body is all malt focused, with a bit of residual sweetness lingering on the palate. The base barleywine is a true representation of the style. The addition of the barrel-aging makes it uniquely American.
