Keen additions of flaked and chocolate rye give her a spicy edge, with low notes of coffee in there too. Dark crystal and Eclipse midnight wheat malts make for dark caramel undertones and deep rich black colour to the beer and head.Hopwise, this one stays true to the style with sticky, piney resins dominating from the use of Cascade and CRYO Simcoe, and adds a firm bitterness to balance the malt intensity.At 7.5% ABV, this is a beer to savour – one schooner at a time.
