When a beer has been brewed and dry hopped with so much Citra it’s literally spilling out, you could say that beer becomes Citradiculous. When offered the chance to use another innovative hop product from our great mates at Yakima Chief Hops, Head Brewer Scotty jumped at the chance. YCH 702 is a flowable hop extract that can amplify and intensify hop aromatics and flavors when added late in the hot side of the brewing process. In the case of Citradiculous, multiple lots of 2021 & 2022 Citra along with YCH 702 Citra were used all the way from the mash tun, right throughout the boil and multiple dry hopping additions.And the result? A Pale Malt base with a little rolled wheat and some Voyager Munich and Dexter malts result in a golden beer crowned with solid white foam. Intense passionfruit, candied orange peel, and fleshy mango aromas leave no doubt that the Citra is in the house. Punchy lime and lychee join in dancing across the palate with lashes of pink musk and green jelly thanks to the slightest help from Simcoe and Loral all melding with the firm but refined bittering. A pleasingly soft but saturated mouthfeel into a lip-smacking finish leaves no doubt… this beer is Citradiculous.
