Our Cold Steeped series is designed to show off world-class coffee in stout form. We start by building an imperial stout packed with rich malty character, but with the roasty flavors and bitterness dialed down a bit, to make room for the coffee in the final profile. The coffee we selected for this iteration is a washed process from the Philippines, sourced and roasted by our friends at Mostra Coffee in San Diego.The coffee is infused into the finished, chilled beer for a limited period of time, to mimic the cold brew process and lock in the aromas of a fresh bag of beans. We think this coffee’s notes of Chocolate, baking spices, and nutty finish blend seamlessly into the beer.
