Beautifully crafted pilsners in the right hands and in the right setting are hard to beat, and so we decided to brew one up to beckon in those warm summer days. A little bit of positive thinking and 'if you brew it, they will come'.But you know we like to put a different spin on things and so for this pilsner we've combined classic German Pilsner Malt with the noble Saaz hop (so far, so classic) but we've fermented using the Oslo ('Ubbe') Kveik yeast strain, a farmhouse lager yeast from Norway, and dry hopped with Meridian hops ( a lovely and unusual, delicate US hop variety that we love).Oh, and it's completely unfiltered, so you can forget that super-bright appearance you get from ultra-fine filtration the big boys use. We prefer to leave all that lovely flavour in the beer!The result is a lovely crisp pilsner style lager with the hallmarks of the classic profile, but with the added spiciness, fresh-herbal spearmint and berry notes from the unique yeast and the Meridian hop.It's a modern take on a classic style with not one, but two curve balls thrown at it.
