We put dark chocolate and salted caramel into an Elijah Craig Bourbon Whiskey barrel that had been housing an imperial stout for 20 months. This 13.5% beer tastes exactly like biting down into a dark chocolate covered caramel dusted with sea salt. It has a sweet, slightly salty aroma full of notes of dark berry. The flavor is sticky caramel and crushed dark chocolatey cacao nibs. The finish lingers with punchy caramel, barrel notes, a little boozy warmth and tons of thick chocolate.
