Barley "wine" Brewed with Phantasm Powder with Sauvignon Blanc Juice AddedCan Release 11/26 - $24/4-packHalf the world drinks beer, the other half drinks wine. To bridge those worlds we brewed a barleywine in a literal sense, a beer influenced by winemaking techniques and ingredients as much as possible. Phantasm Powder is derived from Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc grapes, providing the thiols that create tropical aromatics in New Zealand whites. We then added Sauvignon Blanc grape juice to enhance that expression while also cutting the maltiness of the beer. The result brings together the crackery and grassy flavors of malt and hops with the rhubarb and passion fruit flavors of Sauvignon Blanc grapes.
