Two years ago, we were given a Maker's Mark Private Selection barrel from a local cocktail bar/barbershop. Their Private Selection whiskies are unique in that they are finished in a separate cask containing 10 barrel staves chosen by the barrel's purchaser. With 5 different types of barrel staves to choose from, there are 1,001 different possible combinations. This beer spent 23 months in the barrel.
