We Only Have A West-Coast

Whilst the recent hazy- or NEIPAs are a fine (and surely tasty) example of brewing innovation, we ought not to forget our past. West Coast IPA predates it's eastbound brother and in some ways can be regarded as the one and only OG big bold IPA. The style showcases a grassy and resinous bitterness, lifted by an overall dry body and sometimes possessing notes of citrus fruits in the finish.Becoming a bit of a rarity sometimes, we decided to brew one up to pay hommage to the not-so-modest IPA that started it all. Ours showcases some classical American C-hops (Centennial, Columbus and Cascade), whose grassy and resinous characteristics are allowed to shine through a highly attenuated beer comprised of only a modest grist. Cheers!Oh right, the name! Well, whilst the states might enjoy the possession of multiple coasts, we Dutchies only have a West Coast (pun intended).
