Castanha is the brainchild of our Brazilian brewer, Marcos Crelier, whose ethos is sustainability. He’s brewed an old-style English ale with a Brazilian twist thanks to the addition of aromatic Castanheira wood chips, which come from the Brazilian nut tree. Bread Naturally in Raheny kindly provided very rare unsold sourdough bread for use in the mash and in keeping with the sustainability ethos a donation from sales of the beer will go to the WWF Brazil Nut Project.
