After two seasons with barely a pear in sight, in 2020 the ancient Flakey Bark trees fruited once more. They had had agood year; sugars were up, tannins were powerful, and we were excited. This is the first bottling from that vintage; onebarrel out of three that we made, these happening to be the earliest pears. Flakey is a stubborn fermenter, so this is anaturally sweet, but incredibly tannic and astringent perry. It is stupidly unique, and when you embrace the weird andwonderful flavour that is simply the natural expression of fruit, pure delight. May contain a natural sediment from bottleconditioning.
