Brown ale, the British variety. A classic really and this one would be favoured in the south. Balances on the line with oatmeal stouts, but the colour is defining. Full and creamy, prominent caramel and a liquorice-like finish. Can't say it is the first atempt, in fact, learning from some peers helped it along to where it now stands. Hence the name, if you get it.The grist consists out of ale, various caramalts, a touch of roasted barley and some oats.Hopped with Challenger, for a subtle herbal touch and a nod to the Brits.
