This beer started as a simple idea to feature some quality malt & hops together, but it didn’t take long to evolve into a four-way collab! First our buds at Solaris brewing jumped on board, then we asked Admiral Maltings and Indie hops if they’d like to join up. Admiral suggested their CA-grown specialty Feldblume malt for the project, and Indie picked out their favorite lot from their recent crop of Audacia hops to lend to the cause. We opted to perform a single decoction mash to bring out as much character from the malt as possible, and hopped the beer generously throughout the brew to layer in the hop flavors. The result is akin to an extra-smooth pilsner, with the Audacia bringing flavors of huckleberry, pomegranate, and some subtle floral notes, atop a smooth & rich maltiness from the Feldblume.
