For Heyday's entry into The Rare Beer Competition, two things we really wanted was to make sure that we created something rare and peculiar but still a great drop! With that in mind we created Rua (two in Te Reo Maori and red hair in Irish). A beautifully well balanced Irish red ale, but using 60 kilos of hand peeled mashed potatoes for the fermentable sugar. It brought something super tasty, yet still out of the ordinary. Try it for yourself! Sláinte!
