Original Gravity Haze

OG Haze holds a balance of tropical fruit aromas, juicy hop character and soft malt body that elevates this hazy North Eastern IPA into the carefully crafted realm of distinction from Driftwood Brewery.For us what makes a NEIPA interesting and distinct is its reduced bitterness (compared to a West Coast IPA) and silky mouthfeel. We accomplished these by using a fairly small quantity of bittering hops and by using a lot of high-protein grains in the grist bill (un-malted oats and wheat). We added some green apple puree to the boil to set a pectin haze, and add a hint of viscosity and tartness. We also added a lot of late hops.
