To celebrate our 50th brew day we knocked up something special with Tony and Jayne (two of the three business owners). The design brief was Australian and New Zealand raw materials and hop forward.Coopers Single Origin Heritage malt ex kangaroo Island got the nod and we went left of centre with ye olde school Super Pride, new school Kohatu and Rakau from NZ.The nose bursts with fresh Orange and combines with, as the Rakau tasting notes say (The Whole Orchard!!) all sitting on top of soft vanilla and lightly toasted malts with balanced bitterness.This XPA is a nod to the Greek God Apollo who had two bows in his quiver, two sides to his power, he is both gentle and violent, fair face and furrowed brow, healer and destroyer.
