Socmod DIPA with Galaxy, Citra and Nelson brewed simultaneously in zoom (actually whatsapp) collaboration of AF Brew (St. Petersburg, Russia) and North Brewing Co (Leeds, UK).Concept and artwork are inspired by common cultural and architectural lines: from early Soviet acronyms through Orwell’s ‘ingsoc’ and ‘newspeak’ and to the styles of brutalism and social modernism in the two brewing cities’ architecture. The name is actually a soviet-style awkward acronym for Russian State Science Center for Robotics and Technical Cybernetics, which is the futuristic space-gothic building on the outskirts of St. Petersburg.
