When people talk about Southern Hemisphere hops, they are usually referring to Australia and New Zealand. South Africa too grows hops that tend towards tropical aromatics. We used an experimental variety (XJA2/436) in this experimental batch, paired with a blend of English and German yeast strains intended to enhance that expression. The result has some classic noble spiciness along with bright citrus and cantaloupe!
