The Twins Double Dry Hopped IPA

Initially brewed for the Malthouse West Coast IPA Challenge in 2019 with the theme of ‘Old School Horror Films’, we brewed The Twins with Stanley Kubrick’s ‘The Shining’ in mind (Shining Peak… The Shining.. Get it?). The Twins came about because we used two varieties of Hops that share a lot of similarities, but from different sides of the globe.US Citra from Yakima Chief Hops and NZ Nectaron from NZ Hops take centre stage on a lean and dry malt base which gives this beer an intense oily hop character of passionfruit, orange and a hint of freshly cut grass. We think it’s a bloody nice beer, and after taking out third place overall in the WCIPA Challenge, it clearly has a few fans.
