For the science bit: Tasman IPAs have reduced kettle hop additions, thus reducing base bitterness. The dry hops are added individually for predetermined contact times and completely removed before the next variety is added. This contact time, between 12-48 hours depending on hop variety, is considerably shorter than traditional IPAs. This creates an ultra clean hop profile.For the flavour bit: 48 hour addition of Mosaic and Centennial create a playful fruity base of berries, mango and lemon with some slightly dank citrus and pine, whilst a short final addition of Galaxy gives a huge fresh passion fruit finish.
