BARREL ADOPTION 2022Barrel no. 333, a doppelbock aged in a white wine French oak barrel for 3 months. Its no secret that we have been playing around a lot this year with lager strains of yeast. The bock / doppelbock styles are something that we feel has a lot of barrel aging potential for the future. The design criteria here was to accentuate the fruiter characteristics of the hallertau blanc hops and toffee / chocolate character of the grist with the bright white wine barrels. With the lager styles in barrels a light touch is required not to overpower the beer to begin with.
