Dolgo Crabapple (2021 Vintage)

We foraged the crabapples in this bottle from around the Denver metro area. The Dolgo Crabapple hails from Russia and its name means 'long' because the apple is egg shaped. When it ripens, the skin is dark purple and imparts a light pink and burnt orange pigment. Dolgo showcases the aromas and flavors of raspberries, alpine strawberries, watermelon rind, rose water, with a soft tannic structure.
