We had to go for the slightly cringe name, simply because this beer was brewed for one purpose – crushing in quantity!Malt base of pale barleys, rolled wheat and some malted maize results in a straw coloured beer with a silky texture. The silkiness is further enhanced by a low temperature fermentation with German Ale Kölsch yeast, and an extended low temperature conditioning period. The Precinct twist for this beer though is all in the hops. Using modern varieties Eclipse, Galaxy and Mosaic, dosed hotside at relatively low levels into the mash (yes, the mash) and low temperature whirlpool. Nuanced dry hopping with the same varieties during active fermentation, and the cold conditioning phase leaves this beer with a breadth of tropical flav
