Following the trend of growing new world hop varieties, the French have come out with a cracker of a hop, Barbe Rouge, which translates to Red Beard...? Ginger beards aside, this beer is a showcase of the hop variety bursting with a fresh pineapple and bubblegum aroma, finishing off with an assertive bitterness and grassy resinous mouth feel. Unlike the French, it actually smells great!
