Working with Alan from Old Chimneys brewery in Market Weston, we collaborated at Artefact to make a heritage take on his classic Golden Ale, previously called Golden Pheasant.Brewed to celebrate British First Gold hops. We used a simple grist of heritage Maris Otter, wheat malt, Cara Gold and flaked barley, to give a light, bready/cereal base. We then used whole cone First Gold in the boil and dry hop to bring notes of honey, hay and subtle orange.Expect notes of hay and orange on the nose, with honey, wheat, subtle fruity esters and a clean bitterness on the finish.
