Our newest Bract Brewers experimental hop journey takes us to NZH106 land. With a pedigree that includes the mighty fine and mighty cantankerous Riwaka, Head Brewer Scotty was expecting big things from this hop and boy did it deliver.⁣⁣Using the same pale and specialty malt base and single hop philosophy that we assess all our Bract Brewers experimental hops with, NZH106 wasted no time in showing all the class of her famous ancestor. Revealing deep fragrant floral aromatics with wafts of sweet magnolia and orange blossom with a bright spicy grapefruity citrus fizz, a flash of bubblegum, while a touch of grassy diesel adds a mesmerising soft herbal structure ⁣⁣A soft but clean and focused mouthfeel makes way for a finely balanced, detailed bitterness that resolves into a rich rewarding finish that never overstays its welcome. We opened the throttle a little on this one and at 6.5% gave NZH106 enough gas to match her classy horsepower… This hop is going places⁣.
