Ruth, the long lost wife of Caleb Brinton (the former owner of the Brewery property) is the inspiration behind this Sweet Potato Saison. Lots of hands helped fire roast over 60lbs of sweet potatoes from Broad Wing Farm the night prior to throwing them all in the mash. This Saison has lots of mouthfeel, with nice layers of sweet and silkiness before a dry finish, and a beautiful orange color to compliment! With so many smoked sweet potatoes in this beer, we actually wondered what happened to the pronounced smokey flavors that we expected - the same question has been asked of Ruth for almost 100 years.
