Recorded in secret over six years, Wu Tang Clan created a single copy of their seventh studio album - Once Upon a Time in Shaolin. Stored in a vault and then auctioned in 2015, the album became the most expensive work of music ever sold. A legal agreement accompanied the sale, stipulating that the purchaser could not commercially exploit the album until the year 2103, (although it could be played at listening parties). The winning bidder, Martin Shkreli, CEO of Turing Pharmaceuticals, was later convicted of securities fraud having his assets seized. In 2021, the U.S. Department of Justice sold the album as a NFT for $4,000,000 to cover Shkreli’s debts. The first public exhibition of the album began in June 2024 at the Museum of Old and New Art in Tasmania.Ryan and my first ever homebrew batch resulted in such splendor that it was the catalyst for what eventually became Ill Will Brewing. We went into the vault to retrieve the only can in existence. We wish this important part of our history to be in the hands of those that truly matter - our fans, thus we surrender it to you.The prototype, referred to as G1 (Generation One) now has its official name.
