Storming Sunshine

While the Westcoast DIPA sadly fell victim to the IBU Wars of 2009, getting lost in a sea of overly bitter and oxidized bombers, we never stopped loving them and making them. Never ones to try to see how bitter we can make a beer, Storming Sunshine is the quintessential example of what we want in a Westcoast DIPA; not too big, not too bitter, not boozy, and not showing any restraint. We jam-packed this beer with so much Mosaic Cryo, HBC 586 Lupomax, and Strata hops that our accountant threatened to cane the soles of our feet if we did it again. Light in body but oily in mouthful, Storming Sunshine radiates notes of sweet tropical citrus, fresh blueberries, freshly squeezed tangerines, papaya, cotton candy, mango puree, guava juice, lychee, orange wedges, pineapple sorbet, passion fruit, strawberries, and the classic westcoast grapefruit.
