‘Märzen’ is German for ‘March’. Märzen were traditionally brewed in March with a slightly higher alcohol level and with more hops than typical lager beer, so that they could survive the traditional forbidden Bavarian brewing period between April and September. Märzen would then be served at Oktoberfest (and still are today).This ‘March’ beer is a rich, malty lager with a medium-full body and a clean, dry finish - featuring a very smooth mouthfeel from German pilsner, Munich and Vienna malts, as well as being fermented with a German-style lager yeast.
