Amburana-o-rama

For a while we wanted to play with Amburana wood, a Brazilian wood that gives flavors of warming spices such as clove, allspice, and cinnamon. For Amburana-o-rama, we brewed a semi sweet base stout and treated it with toasted pistachios, amburana spirals and real vanilla beans for a few days. The pistachios added a touch of nuttiness and the wood spirals brought the majority of the flavors while the vanilla beans brought everything together. This was a fun experiment that used some non typical ingredients.
