Designed for this time of year when the temperatures drop across the Bay Area and the night air gets crisper, Timberline is our Winter IPA that evokes all of the scents you love about winter, wrapped in a classic Fieldwork IPA. A simple grain bill consisting of our domestic base malt and German specialty malt delivered to the brewery by Krampus himself creates a grainy and rich platform for the hops and oak to come. A bounty of Simcoe and Chinook hops meld into a boisterous pine aroma reminiscent of a Christmas Tree lot in mid-December, followed up by floral and citrus complexity courtesy of the lesser-known Legacy hop. Fermentation with heavy toasted American Oak helps Timberline live up to its name with a substantial woody mid-palate of fresh split timber, followed by subtle notes of an active fireplace provided by the char on the oak. This Winter IPA ends like every great year, with a highly carbonated champagne-like spritzy finish.
