Schwarzbier - Pilot Series

Schwarzbier is a German-style black lager and so is brewed as a typical lager. This means that the beer is fermented at a cooler temperature than our ales and then, once fermentation is complete, the beer is left to lager (or condition) at a cool temperature for a number of weeks. Given that it is a black lager, it does have a more complex malt bill than a regular lager. We have used Munich malt to enhance the body of the beer as well as imparting more flavour and we have also used heavily malted wheat to achieve the dark colour.
