Galea Iacta Est (16%) is traditional mead that we double barrel aged. At first it spent 11 months on a Galea Carft Beers barrel. It originally held Heaven Hill Bourbon, then Galea aged their Black Heaven Dreams Cookies & Cream Pastry Imperial Stout on it.After that the mead got transferred to a Girvan grain whisky barrel for finishing.The result is a sweet mead with notes of caramel, biscuit, bourbon, a hint of coffee and a generous helping of booziness
