Gin Barrel Aged, Superfruited Hard Seltzer w/ Blackberry, Boysenberry, & Marionberry, and a touch of Lemon.We had some fun with this one. This project started as an extra high-ABV hard seltzer, which we then aged for a few months in a couple small-format gin barrels until it was bursting with intense gin botanical aromatics and spirit character. But any good cocktail needs balance, so we added three different berry purees from the same family: Blackberry, Boysenberry, and Marionberry for some intense jamminess with subtle complexity across the varieties. Finally, a tiny dash of lemon juice provides a garnish of brightness and ties everything back together with the citrus-forward gin base. We’re calling this a “superfruited” seltzer, as the fruit content is very nearly 50%; the maximum we are allowed to add.We recommend gently agitating the bottle before pouring, as the fruit will naturally settle.
