Carolina Shoulder is a quintessential traditional German smoked lager with a clean fermentation profile. Smoked malts balance well with residual sweetness and hop bitterness. Think nice smoked bacon, not campfire ash.As a side note, the name is two-fold, when Amanda and I met ever so long ago, we decided to move to Charleston to experience "life." This is an homage to a place that still holds a special place for Amanda and myself. The second part is that a good Carolina BBQ is pretty fantastic, though not as good as KC BBQ, of course.
