Legend holds that the hami melon was given to Qing emperors for centuries by the locals in its hometown of Hami, a city in eastern Xinjiang. Inspired to brew a beer fit for both an emperor and your average Zhou, we teamed up with WE Brewery from Tianjin to brew the Jing-Jin Hami Melon Wheat. We roasted fresh hami melon in-house and added it to the mash, dry-hopped the brew with Equinox hops, and added mint and melon juice on the cold side. The result was a perfect fall beer, sessionable and refreshing for all.
