Every major beer-producing country has its style of beer that is brewed to be thrown back in quick succession at the local watering hole. While we love crushing bottles of High Life at Merchants, there is something even more satisfying about putting back pints of Yorkshire Mild in the alleyway pubs of Leeds. Inspired by the great beers of Northern England spanning the entirety of the 20th century, Castleford is brewed in the vein of a classic English Pale Ale, with just a few simple ingredients and a litany of complex flavors developed in the kettle. Perfectly balanced with a mellow bitterness, mildly floral and earthy hop flavors, a silky nitrogen-charged body, and deep malt notes of toasted almond brittle, freshly baked biscuits, British sweet buns, shortbread cookies, and a well-balanced general maltiness. With a respectable ABV, artfully crafted balance, and restrained flavor intensity, Castleford is possibly the most sessionable beer to ever flow from our taps.
