"Bock" is a German word used to describe a strong lager. "Doppel" directly translates to "double" which, in turn, describes a stronger and maltier version of a bock. This style was first brewed in Munich by Franciscan monks, and is sweet, complex, and rich. Our version is mahogany with a tan head with big flavors of dark fruits, raisins and toffee. The “-ator” suffix is a typical naming convention for doppelbock beers, both as a nod to the original beer name, “Salvator”, and because patent laws prevented other brewers from using the same name for their similar beers. We have appropriately named ours after our two brewers – Megan and Nate.
