We foraged the crabapples in this bottle from around the Denver metro area. The Dolgo crabapple hails from Russia and its name means 'long' because the apple is egg shaped. When it ripens, the skin is dark purple and imparts a beautiful burnt orange pigment. Dolgo showcases the aromas and flavors of cranberry, strawberry rhubarb, watermelon rind, rose water, minerality, with strong tannic structure. 90% Dolgo 10% Colorado-grown Gala.
