Pera smells like a perfectly ripe pear - the aroma is so incredible that just smelling it is an intoxicating experience. There's a fresh floral note to it that is so specific to perfectly ripe Bartlett. It tastes like when you cut into a pear at its absolute prime (which is a skill in and of itself).
