Commemorating the second-largest oil field in the US, outside Alaska, the East Texas Oil Field discovered on October 10, 1930 has produced over 5.42 billion barrels of oil from a depth of 3,536 feet. Covering 140,000 acres (57,000 ha) and parts of five counties, and having 30,340 historic and active oil wells, it is the largest in total volume of oil recovered, since its discovery in 1930.Our English Strong Bitter is a malt-forward, sessionable beer that balances English malts, hops, yeast and Burton on Trent water, for the right amount of malt character, bitter roast and a pleasing, slightly bitter finish.Contrary to what the term bitter implies, an ESB is not a bitter tasting beer, but rather a complex pairing of sweet malts, roasted malts and bitter hops all working together to be a balanced, great performing beer....just like the East Texas Oil Field.
