Like all great ideas, this collab was born in a pub. Our brewers ventured south for the 2018 hop harvest and, after a few post hop-walk beers at HBC, struckup a deal to brew a winter beer together.In the intervening months, Scott, Jimmy and Alex from HBC prepared their own smoked malt with alocally sourced mixture of apple, cherry and plum. They ran out of those woods on the third day, so onthe fourth day they used the staves from a Lark whisky barrel they had just emptied the day before.Hence the 4 day smoko!After all that hard work, they HBC crew headed north for the easy part - a brew day (and perhaps a few beers) at Goat.The result is a deceptively smooth porter with a sweet smoke flavour.
