Barrel Aged Tetrapod started its journey 17 months ago when we took a big stout base and aged it in two select Taconic bourbon barrels. Following our sensory panel and a remote brainstorming session with the TA crew, we blended both and added Emperor’s coconut, pistachios, Vanuatu vanilla, marshmallow, and coffee from Finca’s Coffee, out of Miami, Florida, a TA favorite. After consulting with Finca's, we chose their Obata/Lempira coffee roast, which has lent great flavors to this collaborative project.Layered flavors of decadent honey fudge, chocolate-covered coconut chips, nutty pistachio biscotti, coffee liquor, chunks of cookie dough, and sarsaparilla all morph into one anther as this beer finishes with an outrageous mouthfeel that coats the palate in a thick glaze before vanishing into what is a call for the evolution into the next sip.
