In July 2023, Yakima Chief Hops®, Lupum, and Cervejas do Mundo forum collaborated to host the inaugural IPA Challenge in Portugal. This homebrew competition aimed to discover the finest hop-forward brew in the country.Last month, the triumphant trio of homebrewers—Afonso, Vasco, and Pedro—embarked on a journey northward to Lupum to recreate their winning recipe on a commercial brewing kit. The beer, a New Zealand hop forward IPA, was infused with Nectaron™ and Riwaka™, and a hint of our beloved U.S favorites, Citra® and Idaho 7! While the original recipe boasted a 7.5% ABV, the upgraded version resulted in a potent 9.4% ABV hop bomb. As it turns out, *Kids Can´t do Maths*!
