Port Barrel-Aged Hafgufa is a heavy, dark beer with a distinct flavor profile with notes of coffee and dark chocolate. This beer is aged for 12 months on ex-Tawny Port barrels, adding subtle flavors of fortified red wine, grapes, and wood (tannines).The name is inspired by the Hafgufa a mythological sea monster described in the Norse Saga of Örvar-Oddr from the 14th century."It is the nature of the Hafgufa to swallow men and ships, and even whales and everything else within its reach."Recommended drinking temperature is 13-16°C.A fitting name for such a flavorful beer!Released to celebrate our 5 year anniversary.
